President of KSR

Since its establishment in 1997, KSR has continuously grown both in scale and quality. Today, with over 6,500 individual members and 140 institutional and corporate members, it has developed into a leading academic society, serving as a platform for collaboration and exchange among experts from academia, industry, research, and government.

KSR publishes internationally recognized journals, including the Journal of KSR, which is indexed in SCOPUS and KCI (Korea Citation Index), as well as the Railway Journal. We also organize annual spring and autumn academic conferences and host the International Conference on Advanced Railways and Transportation(ICART), among other academic activities. These efforts actively support our members' research and promote the excellence of railway-related technology and academic achievements both domestically and internationally.

Furthermore, to encourage continuous innovation and progress in railway technology and academia, we hold annual events such as the KSR Academic Awards, KSR Authorship Awards, Top 10 Railway Technology Awards, and Students Railway Creative Works Exhibition.

Various specialized committees, technical committees, and research groups operate actively to advance expertise in different railway-related disciplines. Additionally, KSR has established regional branches across Korea to facilitate vibrant academic activities nationwide.

Moving forward, KSR will continue to lead the vision for the future of railways and create new value, fulfilling its role as a comprehensive academic society for railway research and development.
